Saturday, October 25, 2014 – THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR HELP!

union-station-group-shot1

On behalf of the Pasadena Bar Association, the Community Outreach Committee would like to thank all those who gave up part of their Saturday to join the PBA’s Service Day at Union Station. The volunteers cooked, cleaned, served and generally worked very hard. Octavia Sisley, Director of Volunteer and Community Programs at Union Station stated that the PBA had one of the “BEST groups and service days they have had at the Adult Center.” Union Station was so grateful to the PBA and its team for all the hard work and tremendous effort. Union Station does tremendous work to help men, women and children rebuild their lives, and end homelessness. Allowing the PBA and its members to play a small part in its efforts was a gratifying and touching experience. Thank you again to all those who volunteered to make this a great day!

Pasadena Bar Association and Public Counsel

Do you want to help residents in the Pasadena area who need justice and hope? The PBA is joining forces with Public Counsel to meet the legal needs of our fellow community members.

“Legal assistance can make all the difference for someone who is facing foreclosure or eviction or struggling with homelessness or other life challenges,” said Will Watts, Public Counsel’s Director of Homelessness Prevention. “Pro bono attorneys can make a difference in the lives of people in need, and that’s a great feeling for the attorneys and the individuals they help.”

Join us! Public Counsel and All Saints Church have launched a free legal clinic for residents throughout Pasadena and neighboring communities.

The clinic is open to all individuals who need legal assistance but lack the resources to retain an attorney. The clinic covers immigration, criminal, DMV, eviction, personal injury, family law and other areas of law.

Whatever your practice area or experience, Public Counsel can use your expertise.

Public Counsel is the nation’s largest pro bono law firm and has served the greater Los Angeles area for more than 40 years. They put the power of the law to work for people in need of justice, including families and children, military veterans, people struggling with homelessness, students, victims of torture and violence from around the world, and small businesses and nonprofits.
